New Zealand Ski Vacations
Brilliant, Snow Joke!

Introduction

From novices to the experienced skier New Zealand Ski vacations present glittering gems of majestic snow slopes and canyons fringed with statuesque evergreens laden with white. Absent of noise the luminous sky folds to your touch and silence rushes past like the wind. Below you the trails spin out as gently spiralling smoke and resort lodges shimmer with life.

New Zealand Ski Vacations
New Zealand ski resorts have world-class facilities: Wonderful New Zealand scenery, great hospitality and runs that cater for all comers. Wide treeless slopes covering both undefined terrain for adventure and fixed trails.

Skiing in New Zealand offers you a unique experience: Panoramic views and renowned hospitality, world-class facilities and terrain from beginners to just plain extreme.

Ski resorts

All but 2 of New Zealand’s public ski resorts are on the South Island (and yes for those of you who already know, Queenstown is the nerve centre!) Whakapapa and Turoa on the North Island are New Zealand’s largest Ski areas.

Season opening

New Zealand's ski season starts in the South Island from early June until early October and in the North Island from late June to mid November.

Weather

The maritime New Zealand climate and its westerly fronts produce unique conditions for the country's ski holidays. For up to date conditions always check the New Zealand weather reports.

For those of you with either the itouch or iphone from apple you'll find applications for New Zealand weather and snow reports.

Phil's checked them out and the free apps from the app store for snow reports are easy to use, provide good information and are well reviewed by users.

So go on! Get Skiing; and for you beginners Charley and I have a few tips to help you make the most of New Zealand ski vacations.

There's no waiting for friends on a powder day
