Christchurch
New Zealand Weather

Christchurch New Zealand weather can be quite quite different from Auckland and even Wellington.

Christchurch (In Māori the name is Ōtautahi) is the largest city in the South Island of New Zealand and lies a third of the way down the South Island's east coast, just north of Banks Peninsula.

To the south and south-east the urban element of the city is held back by the volcanic slopes of the Port Hills. North east sea breezes are familiar to Christchurchians (is there such a word?) and storms have been known.
