The deepest lake is Lake Hauroko at 462m or 1515ft, and the largest is Lake Taupo (606km or 234 miles). The longest river is the famous Waikato at 425km or 264 miles. New Zealand’s largest glacier is the Tasman Glacier, a formidable 29km or 18 miles long. If you’re going potholing then you’ll want to know that the deepest cave is Nettlebed at Mount Arthur at 889m or 2916ft deep. Boy that is some pothole.
