Travel New Zealand Tour the Country!
To travel New Zealand is to become a 21st Century explorer. It doesn’t matter if you’ve climbed the Waitakere hills, braved standing beneath a pounding waterfall or sat on the grassy knoll of Mount Eden, surveying Auckland a patchwork of distant sails fluttering over the land. Travel New Zealand at your own pace. Wander the beaches around Poverty Bay and Gisborne. Taste the grapes in the vineyards of Hawke’s Bay and enjoy the wonderful restaurants. For that rugged walk, tramp the Fiordland National Park, Milford and Doubtful Sound.
Wherever you stay on your New Zealand tour, check out the nightlife, see a band or watch a play. See what’s on at the Maidment Theatre in Auckland and when the show is over wander through the University grounds back to the city centre. Enjoy Al Fresco dining at the Sawmill in Leigh with a view like no other. Wander Cuba Street Wellington and try any one of the great bars and restaurants. The next morning jump on the Kelburn cable car and take in the harbour views. The secret of travel New Zealand is to combine it all. Don’t just hang out in the city because if I say that you have 235 camp sites run by the department of conservation all laid out for you across the country then your new Zealand adventure spirit is bound to be stirred! Go on! Find that primus and spark it up!
Paul Theroux the travel writer and novelist when musing on his Pacific travels commented, “Tourists don't know where they've been: Travellers don't know where they're going.”
If you’re a tourist or traveller then it’s not such a bad place to be when you think about it.
The way Charley and I see it is that the tourist has done so much they can’t remember it all and travellers revel in the fact that they have no idea what’s around the corner! Theroux may have viewed us with a somewhat cynical literary eye but instead it’s a compliment to the New Zealand Adventure spirit and New Zealand’s tourist attractions.
A New Zealand Travel Guide is essential from the word go. Just as important is to know how you are going to get around. It will influence what you see and where you stay.Charley and I will say one thing… Do not disappoint yourselves... Do your research, make a plan and look at your options. From your flight into this beautiful land to your hire car… The campervan you purchase, the bikes you came with, the train you catch, the ferry you cross with and the boots you walk in… How you travel New Zealand is your choice.
